Here are my selections for Friday night. These are not meant to be in exact order, but merely the four horses I think have the best chance to win. For beginners, I suggest exacta boxes with three horses, using two of mine and one of your own. And you can always pick up a copy of Acing Racing 2016 to learn everything you need to know. (These are the picks and format that are available on the free tip sheet at SHRP).

I like the first, fourth, fifth, sixth and eighth races on the card best of all.

CHI TOWN CHIEF has struggled in last two but picks up Parker and likes this surface

SUNNY'S FUNNY will be a short price but looks solid here

MAD GRACE is another short-priced Asmussen runner who looks tough

Big class drop should help VALENTINE STREET be in the mix

TOMMY GROSSMAN just missed vs. tougher in last and offers good value

Will take a flyer with PALADINS WARRIOR, who drops after a so-so debut

BOURBON GLENN has reeled off three in a row and should make it four

Wide open with several firsters that could have an impact on the finish

Who's really calling the shots? Composite Getty Image.

Who is actually determining how much Jose Abreu is playing right now? Is it Joe Espada or is someone telling him from the top of the organization to play Abreu and not take him out of clutch moments?

Also, could Espada be sending a message to the front office by giving them a good look at how bad he is, and how much he's hurting the team with regular playing time?

ESPN Houston's Jeremy Branham makes that case in the video above, but his radio partner Joel Blank isn't quite buying it.

Don't miss the video above for the full conversation!
