Here are my selections for Friday. These are not meant to be in exact order, but merely the four horses I think have the best chance to win. For beginners, I suggest exacta boxes with three horses, using two of mine and one of your own. And you can always pick up a copy of Acing Racing 2016 to learn everything you need to know. (These are the picks and format that are available on the free tip sheet at SHRP)

FIRST
5-8-6-1
CALIBER was a sharp winner in last and should handle the move to turf

SECOND
7-5-6-8
MEGASIZE faltered in last but tough heat and Parker stays aboard

THIRD
8-12-1-7
SOOLEAWA returns to a sprint distance where debut was strong

FOURTH
3-8-6-4
MY THIRD EYE was a sharp winner in last and takes a slight turn back in distance

FIFTH
12-11-7-9
ELVIS deserves one more shot after a lackluster debut

SIXTH
1-4-3-2
TRULY BLING hooked a monster in last and this should be an easier spot

SEVENTH
1-7-2-6
PREVIOUS HONOR heads a powerful entry that looks tough here

EIGHTH
8-1-4-5
SOUTH TEXAS DRAWL improved in last and similar effort gets it done

Have the Texans established their spot in the upper echelon of the NFL with Sunday's win over Buffalo?

Sure, it wasn’t pretty. But the Bills were an elite team, and the Texans beat them. We should be encouraged that the Texans have found a way to win four games, and they still haven't played up to their capabilities.

Be sure to catch the video above as ESPN Houston's Jeremy Branham and Joel Blank argue why the Texans deserve a spot among the NFL’s elite teams, despite the ugly wins this season.
