That's a wrap on the regular season. Now it's do-or-die time for Houston-area playoffs teams.

Couple of surprises this season included the complete dominance of Pearland in District 23-6A under new coach Ricky Tullos. How about Jersey Village winning District 17-6A? What a turnaround.

Strake Jesuit looked impressive under new coach Klay Kubiak and Tomball Memorial fared well in their first year of Class 6A.

According to multiple reports, the Houston Texans are signing former Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz to a 1-year deal worth up to $9 million.

In 15 games last season, Schulz caught 57 passes and recorded 577 receiving yards with 5 TDs. Over the past 3 years, his numbers are right up there with the top tight ends in the game.

The Texans also added some depth at running back by signing former Bills RB Devin Singletary to a 1-year deal worth up to $3.75 million.

He should be a good fit sharing carries with Dameon Pierce. Singletary rushed for 819 yards last season, with 5 rushing TDs. His ability to catch the football had to be one of the elements of his game that got GM Nick Caserio's attention.

Singletary caught 38 passes for 280 yards last year. With Rex Burkhead no longer under contract, Singletary will be a nice upgrade catching passes out of the backfield for Houston.
