Quentin Grimes, the #13-ranked player in the Class of 2018, announced his commitment to Kansas on Wednesday evening.
Grimes is a 5-star recruit that has experience playing with the Global Adidas National team and had 12 offers from the likes of Arizona, Louisville, Kentucky, Marquette, Texas, Texas A&M and more. The 6-foot-5-inch combo guard is the fourth player in Kansas’ 2018 recruiting class which ranks 4th in the country.
He also is one of five Houston hoop stars to grace the cover of the 2017 VYPE Basketball Preview issue schedule to hit stands later this week.
After watching many of the top teams in the AFC improve their rosters before the trade deadline, Texans fans were hoping that Houston would do something similar.
According to multiple reports, the Texans have made a trade. But this move is not what many were envisioning. Houston has agreed to trade DT Khalil Davis to the 49ers for a 7th-round pick in 2026.

With Denico Autry back from a suspension three weeks ago, and Mario Edwards Jr. set to return after this Sunday's game, the Texans must have felt confident enough with their defensive line to move Davis to San Francisco. Let's hope they're right.
Davis played just 26% of the snaps on defense versus the Jets. Defensive tackles Tim Settle, Foley Fatukasi, and Kurt Hinish all played a higher percentage of snaps than Davis.
This feels familiar
Houston made a similar decision when they traded Cam Akers to the Vikings a few weeks ago because Dameon Pierce was returning from injury (hamstring). Since then, Pierce has been injured again (groin) and didn't play against the Jets.
That's the risk when you trade away your depth. At the end of the day, Texans fans shouldn't be too concerned with the activity or lack their of at the deadline.
It's just hard watching the top contenders getting better while the Texans sit on their hands.
