How the NFL Combine will influence Houston Texans draft strategy

SIZE MATTERS

How big of an impact will the NFL Scouting Combine have on the Houston Texans draft plans? How will the performances of the top QBs impact Houston’s thinking?

Alabama QB Bryce Young won't be throwing at the Combine, but Will Levis, CJ Stroud, and Anthony Richardson will.

One thing that teams will discover about Young is his size. We'll get official measurements on Young and find out if he's a little over 5'10 like what's been reported, and if he weighs under 200 pounds.

These numbers may not seem like a big deal, but some teams won't consider drafting Bryce Young if he falls short of these key measurements.

One of the main areas of improvement for the Texans this season, has been the running game with the addition of Joe Mixon.

Mixon rushed for 100 yards or more in 5 of his first 6 games with the team. But unfortunately for Houston, Mixon hasn't been nearly as effective recently.

When looking at his recent numbers, Mixon has failed to rush for more than 46 yards in 3 of his last 5 games. Posting only 26 rushing yards against Miami on Sunday.

With this in mind, is the state of Houston's run game a major concern, especially when the playoffs begin?
