The Los Angeles Chargers on Tuesday acquired tackle Austin Deculus from the Houston Texans.
The Chargers will send a 2027 conditional seventh-round pick to Houston.
Deculus was picked sixth by Houston in the 2022 NFL draft and has appeared in 15 career games including the postseason, making a pair of starts.
He saw the most action of his career in 2023, when he played in seven games with one start, contributing along an offensive line that helped quarterback C.J. Stroud throw for 4,108 yards and 23 touchdowns.
A four-year starter at right tackle at Louisiana State, Deculus played five years for the Tigers, making 46 starts. His 61 games were the most by any player in program history. Deculus played with Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Joe Burrow.
With Deculus off the roster, here's a look at how the Texans look after cutting down to 53 players.

Stephen A. Smith presses Stroud on Texans' o-line concerns, Mixon loss
Aug 26, 2025, 1:25 pm
Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud joins First Take on Tuesday and shares his outlook for the season with Molly Qerim and Stephen A. Smith.
One of the biggest factors that could swing the Texans season has to be the rebuilt offensive line. Stroud was the second-most sacked quarterback last season, and Houston knew that had to change.
Smith asked Stroud about the revamped unit, and CJ had really good things to say about the tackle play with rookie Aireontae Ersery and Tytus Howard.
Stroud also credits the new scheme, believing the changes they're making will prevent some of the issues from last year from happening again. Specially, they're looking to get the ball out quicker and move the pocket to give the linemen more help.
Finally, Stroud discussed the new-look receiving corps, and how the Texans will replace Joe Mixon early in the season.
