Katy is a top the national rankings...sound familiar?
And no, we aren't talking about football.
The Lady Tiger softball squad moved into the No. 1 slot in the USA Today Super 25 rankings after a 12-1 win over Seven Lakes this week.
Katy started the season as VYPE's No. 1 team, and hasn't moved from there since.
Led by eight returning All-District players, the Tigers have outscored opponents 233-46 en route to a 23-1 record. The one loss came against Alvin, another Houston area powerhouse.
Katy is well on its way to another district title, and should be poised for a deep run in the 6A UIL Playoffs.
The latest update from Astros GM Dana Brown on the club's flagship station did not ease anyone's concerns this week. Brown said he was optimistic that Kyle Tucker would be back before September. September?
Which made us wonder what type of injury Tucker is really dealing with? A bone bruise doesn't typically take this long to heal.
Be sure to watch the video above as ESPN Houston's Joel Blank and Barry Laminack share their thoughts on Tucker's health, the Astros' secrecy when it comes to injuries, and much more!
