Hey Nerds! It's Friday, you made it, let's celebrate.

GOOD DEED OF THE DAY

Make sure to help support The Adventure Begins as they participate in The Longest Day fundraiser, they will have tournaments and games all day in support against Alzheimer's. There are all kinds of things to get involved and ways to help, check out their website for more details.

WHILE YOU'RE OUT

So on most Fridays I point out that you should go to your local comic shop and then I list a couple of books from various publishers that you should check out. There's literally only one book that's important this week, House of X. Hickman has come in and changed the game and the rules of the game for this new title and this new run. Magneto at one point asks people to call him their new god, this is the next step in the game. House of X. There are some other books though, including my own, maybe check out Another Day at the Office if you get a second.

WHO ME?

This weekend my little brother turns 21. This is a really cool deal and a major milestone. This incredible journey that he and I have been on together that is Nerd Thug Radio has let us become incredibly close and now I consider him to be one of my best friends and watching him grow into a man has been amazing. This guy is funny, with a big heart and a terrible driver, happy birthday Nico DLG!

THE BOYS

This weekend on Amazon Prime The Boys debuts, this is that different take on superheroes some people have been looking for. Make no mistake about it, this is the next level of dark, storytelling. Essentially this is the story of some guys who have had their lives wrecked by superheroes and the superheroes whose antics ruin their lives. It asks the questions of consequence and what would it look like in a world full of super powers, what happens when a man runs through a human being at a rate of super speed and what does that look like moving forward for both of the hero and the person left alive. Check it out.

NOT THAT YOU ASKED

The Houston Astros return to Daikin Park on Friday night looking to end a three-game home losing streak as they open a three-game set against the Los Angeles Angels.

Ronel Blanco takes the mound for Houston, aiming to bounce back after a rough start to his season. The right-hander is 0-1 with a 9.45 ERA and a 2.10 WHIP through his first two outings. He’ll be opposed by Angels rookie Jack Kochanowicz, who has impressed early with a 3.27 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and eight strikeouts.

The Astros enter the night at 5-7, sitting third in the AL West and still searching for offensive consistency. Despite the team’s slow start, Jose Altuve has been a bright spot, hitting .333 with three homers in his last 10 games. Yordan Alvarez, though still looking for his power stroke to fully emerge, has contributed eight RBI.

Houston will need a stronger showing at the plate to keep pace with a hot Angels squad that has won seven of its last 10. Los Angeles ranks fourth in MLB in slugging (Houston is dead last) and is led by Kyren Paris and Logan O’Hoppe, who have combined for 10 home runs over the last 10 games. The Angels have gone 6-3 on the road and are currently second in the AL West.

This is the first meeting of the season between the division rivals. The Astros are 2-1 this year when scoring five or more runs but have struggled in lower-scoring games. Meanwhile, the Angels have outscored their opponents by 15 runs over their last 10 contests.

Here's a look at the Astros lineup for Game 1:

Shaking things up

Brendan Rodgers is hitless in his last eight at-bats, so Joe Espada is hoping Mauricio Dubon can give the offense a spark as he's hitting ninth and playing second base.

First pitch is scheduled for 8:10 p.m. EDT.

The Astros projected starters for the series:

Friday-Blanco

Saturday-Ryan Gusto

Sunday-Hayden Wesneski
