There were several headline-stealing storylines in Class 5A this season. And the state of Texas has been put on notice.

The No. 1 FB Marshall Buffs got better with the addition of super QB Malik Horsby in mid-season from Houston Austin. How about Shadow Creek's historic first year in varsity play? An undefeated season.

Manvel retooled and will be tough out in the playoffs along with the fast and physical Angleton.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is the favorite, but Texans QB CJ Stroud is in second, right behind him.

Does Stroud deserve this amount of respect in just his second season? Both Bayless and Johnson agree that he does! Keyshawn makes the point that Stroud was in MVP consideration last year. So why not this season? The Texans added Stefon Diggs and Joe Mixon to Houston's already lethal offense.
