When the Houston Texans decided to draft CJ Stroud with the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft, immediately the expectation for him was to become the team's franchise quarterback.

And many are already calling him that, despite the fact that zero games have been played since the Texans selected him. So at what point is it appropriate to give him that designation?

We know he'll be given every opportunity to prove he can be the face of the franchise, but rookie QBs don't typically perform well. But if he's showing signs of improvement, that's really what's most important.
