Houston Texans Get Great News At a Weird Time
Come off an incredible start to a new era of Houston Texans football, GM Nick Caserio and Head Coach DeMeco Ryans will look to build off their success and make some important additions in free agency.
Free agency is right around the corner, so the latest update about Texans star rookie receiver Tank Dell couldn't come at a better time.
Aaron Wilson is reporting that Tank Dell is expected to be ready for OTA's in May after suffering a broken fibula that ended his rookie season.

The timing of this news is critical, because the Texans have some big decisions to make in free agency. The legal tampering period starts on March 11.
According to bookies.com, the Texans are the favorites to sign Buccaneers WR Mike Evans. Evans will be 31 years old when the season starts and could command as much as a 3-year deal for $68 million dollars, according to PFF. Similar to Davante Adams' deal with the Raiders.
The Texans have a lot of money to spend this year, but they also have a ton of wholes to fill, especially on defense. Knowing before free agency that Tank Dell should be good to go in May, could shift their priorities this offseason. With Tank Dell and Nico Collins locked in as their top receivers, they don't need to be desperate and overpay for an aging receiver. One could argue the Texans already have a younger version of Evans with Collins.
Instead of spending big on Evans, the team can go after some top defenders on the market, or look to re-sign Jonathan Greenard, Sheldon Rankins, Steven Nelson, or Dalton Schultz.

Oswald Peraza hit a two-run single in the ninth inning to help the Los Angeles Angels snap a three-game losing skid by beating the Houston Astros 4-1 on Saturday night.
Peraza entered the game as a defensive replacement in the seventh inning and hit a bases-loaded fly ball to deep right field that eluded the outstretched glove of Cam Smith. It was the fourth straight hit off Astros closer Bryan Abreu (3-4), who had not allowed a run in his previous 12 appearances.
The Angels third run of the ninth inning scored when Mike Trout walked with the bases loaded.
Kyle Hendricks allowed one run while scattering seven hits over six innings. He held the Astros to 1 for 8 with runners in scoring position, the one hit coming on Jesús Sánchez’s third-inning infield single that scored Jeremy Peña.
Reid Detmers worked around a leadoff walk to keep the Astros scoreless in the seventh, and José Fermin (3-2) retired the side in order in the eighth before Kenley Jansen worked a scoreless ninth to earn his 24th save.
Houston’s Spencer Arrighetti struck out a season-high eight batters over 6 1/3 innings. The only hit he allowed was Zach Neto’s third-inning solo home run.
Yordan Alvarez had two hits for the Astros, who remained three games ahead of Seattle for first place in the AL West.
